Crypto Influencer BitBoy Arrested in Florida Amid Legal Turmoil

Ben Armstrong, widely recognized in the crypto community as “BitBoy,” was arrested in Florida on March 25 after publicly disclosing that a warrant had been issued for his arrest just days prior. According to the Volusia County Division of Corrections, Armstrong was taken into custody at 7:18 pm local time and listed as a fugitive from justice. BitBoy Detained After Social Media Warning The arrest follows Armstrong’s March 21 social media post , where he confirmed that the warrant stemmed from emails he had sent to Cobb County, Georgia Superior Court Judge Kimberly Childs. Acting as his own attorney, Armstrong claimed his emails led to the judge deleting her social media accounts. This isn’t Armstrong’s first run-in with the law. In September 2023, he was previously arrested while livestreaming outside the home of a former business associate, accusing the individual of withholding his Lamborghini. Ongoing Legal Woes and Public Feuds Armstrong’s legal troubles extend beyond his recent arrest. In March 2023, he was also named in a class-action lawsuit alleging that he promoted Binance, which was accused of selling unregistered securities. The case was eventually settled in August 2024, with Armstrong and his co-defendant, NBA star Jimmy Butler, agreeing to pay a combined $340,000 without admitting wrongdoing. Earlier this year, Armstrong also made headlines outside the courtroom. On February 24, he participated in a combat sports event hosted by Karate Combat in Mexico, where he fought against the pseudonymous memecoin developer “More Light.” Armstrong emerged victorious by unanimous decision after three two-minute rounds. Following the bout, “More Light” described Armstrong as a “good guy” despite their public rivalry. Meanwhile, Armstrong’s professional life has also faced turbulence. In August 2023, Hit Network, the parent company of BitBoy Crypto, severed ties with him , citing alleged substance abuse and inappropriate conduct toward employees. Armstrong denied the allegations, claiming the move was part of an internal coup to oust him.
